Pilansberg National Park

Time spent amongst nature is never a waste of time. Headed out to Pilansberg National Park in the  North West.  A mere 144km from Pretoria, it's a quick getaway from the city bustle. Got an early monring start as the gates to the reserver open at 05h30.

Pilansberg is a big 5 game reserve so you are bound to bump into any one of the five or perhaps you strike it lucky and get to see all 5. R90 per person as a day visitor and R50 per vehicle

The park has tarred roads (if you can call it that, the tar roads are in a terrible state) and then there are the secondary dirt roads. Both are accesible by normal sedan.

We had just entered the gate and travelled a mere 1,5m when we came across our very first elephants

The park was beautifully green and there was water abound

We were unfortunatley not lucky enough to see all the big 5 but we saw plenty of the other magnificant wild life

The highlight of our day's outing has to be our encounter with two elephant frolicking in the water

All around a pleasant day spent in the reserve
