Namaqua Trip - Day 5

Hondeklipbaai to Lambertsbaai via Strandfontein the vanWyk family farm.
Hondeklibaai se ou jetty nie meer daar nie.

Namaqua National Park - Swartfontein farm is now part of this park.

Signing in and paying the park fees (R37 per person)

As little girl when we came on holiday I had to open the 15 gates.
Now there are only 3.

Sandy dirt road to the farm house.

Farmhouse in the distance.

The kitchen/front door.

Tannie Nettie's stone and succulents garden no longer visible.

 Back of the house

Able to take a photo of the kitchen from the back of the house.

Tannie Nettie's kitchen. Nothing like it used to be (photo taken through the window)

Old chicken pen and water tank

Left the farm house with a heavy heart. Remembering all the wonderful holidays we spent here.
Carried on with our journey to Garies.

Garies high school where my gran and all the other van Wyk children attended school.

Road to Lamberts Bay...mist rolling in

Our accommodation for the night. A wine farm called Kookfontein.

The Lion....I mean dog (boerboel) on the farm.
Look at the size of that dogs paw in Frank's hand.

Did some personalized wine tasting with the farmer and his wife in their dining room.
Then ended up buying a case of wine.

Lamberts Bay Harbour

Dinner at Isabellas, becuase Die Weskus Kombuis was closed.
This restaurant is also on the harbour.
