San Lameer

Nothing like a beach holiday. Natal would not have been our first choice but staying at the ever popular Sanlameer Hotel & Spa has always been on our bucket list.

We opted for the hotel stay. A beautifully located hotel overlooking the lagoon. The rooms were modern and luxurious. A daily scrumptious buffet breakfast included.

Strange when you are working, you struggle to get up every morning, however when you are on holiday and you can be sleeping in you tend to be up before the birds, go figure. . . .

The resort offers numerous activities, golf, cycling, hiking, tennis, fishing, bowls, games, spa, bird watching.... to name just a few.

The guys loved the fact that they had a world class 18 hole golf course right on their doorstep.

We had an enjoyable day of golf. The girls managed the carts.
The guys all played one under.
One under the tree, one under the bush, one under the water!

And after a hard day on the golf course there is no better way to refresh than
with a cocktail (in each hand).
Boys get their fill of golf, girls get their fill of Cocktails

The resort has some wildlife of it's own and every day presented us with a new visitor.

and when the wildlife did not come on their own, we went looking for them.....
Bird watching just another of the interesting activities on offer.

Then sometimes you just have to be still........

Anyone having visited the Natal South Coast will attest to the fact that you cannot be in that area without visiting the ever famous  The Waffle House in Ramsgate.
Happier than a seagull with a French Fry

So what is a beach holiday if  you don't go to the beach?

And when the beach is not calling, perhaps the bush.
The resort has a number of cycling, hiking, jogging trails that you can venture onto.
A brisk morning walk, just what the doctor ordered.

To be honest the hotel restaurant left much to be desired.
Not only were the majority of items on the menu "out of stock" but the prices were ridiculously high.
So we opted to explore the nearby resturants.
One such restaurant was Falvours Restaurant in Trafalgar.
What an experience. A little fine dining, a little more fine wine and lots of fine company.
The fondest memories are made when gathered around the table.

Another was a quaint little pizza place in Southbroom called O' Nelly's Pizza Cafe

An then of course, how can we not visit Pistols Saloon and Wild West Meuseum Sadly we were there for dinner, it was raining very heavily, so we did not get to see "Donkey".
It was a "Check your guns at the door" kind of night.

With all the eating we were doing, we had no choice but to work some of it off with another resort activity of boat pedalling.

And then it was time to reflect......

A good rest, great time spent with family and fabulous memories made.
